Synopsis
Water is a basic condition for the emergence of life. This relatively simple compound, consisting of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom, is found on Earth in gaseous, liquid, and solid forms.
Water accounts for most of Earth’s surface. Water makes up most of our body by weight. However, one fundamental question is left unanswered: where did all that water came from?
Perhaps, the answer is more complex than anyone might expect.
